China Just Dropped Superman - AI Robot With Superhuman Abilities

Unitree unveiled a new humanoid robot claiming record sprinting and jumping performance just days before its Shanghai stock debut, spotlighting both China’s lead in humanoid shipments and the wide gap between headline athletic feats and real-world autonomy. Superman’s headline performance Unitree’s new humanoid, Superman, was presented with a standing vertical jump of 2 meters and a top speed of 12.66 meters per second, about 28.3 mph. Those figures would edge past Usain Bolt’s peak recorded race speed of 12.42 meters per second and exceed the roughly 1.8-meter human standing jump benchmark. With legs only 0.85 meters long, the performance points to unusually strong actuator output and gait control rather than simple stride length.
