Europe may get a more advanced Semi first

Tesla has signaled a European Semi debut at IAA Transportation in Hanover from September 15-20. The vehicle shown ahead of the event appears to replace side mirrors with camera-monitor systems, a setup already legal in the European Union and used by manufacturers including Mercedes-Benz. The design can improve aerodynamics, reduce blind spots and increase efficiency, advantages that matter especially for battery-electric long-haul trucks.

Flight 14 now targets a more significant milestone

Rather than focusing on a tower catch, Flight 14 is expected to send Starship to orbit for the first time. The previous 13 flights were suborbital. Elon Musk has also said the first reflight of a previously used Starship could happen by the end of this year or early next year, underscoring that reusability remains the central objective even if the catch test slips by a few months.

Neuralink builds manufacturing base in Texas

Neuralink is expanding in Del Valle, Texas, on a 37-acre site about 20 minutes from Tesla's Gigafactory Texas. Filings show nearly $16 million in construction, including a 112,000-square-foot facility with offices, a machine shop and a clean room. That last feature is especially important because clean rooms are essential for consistent production of sensitive medical devices under tightly controlled conditions.

From experiments to scaled medical devices

The Texas buildout aligns with plans to begin high-volume production of Neuralink brain-computer interface devices in 2026 and move toward an increasingly automated surgical process. The company is developing Telepathy, aimed at allowing paralyzed users to control computers and phones with their thoughts, and Blindsight, intended to restore vision in stages. The new facility indicates a shift from research toward regulated, repeatable manufacturing.
