Tesla is preparing a limited Austin debut of its two-seat Cybercab robotaxi, a launch that could shift attention from weak Cybertruck sales to whether the company can finally prove driverless transport at commercial scale. Austin rollout appears close The Information reported, later echoed by Reuters, that Tesla has told employees a public rollout could begin near the end of August in Austin, Texas. The plan is said to start with employee rides on public roads, then expand within days to paid passenger trips tied to Tesla’s existing robotaxi service around Gigafactory Texas.
