A head-to-head test of AI coding models found Fable 5 significantly faster and more reliable than Soul 5.6 for building a playable escape-room game.
Two developers conducted a timed experiment using Higgsfield’s game platform to generate escape-room games via AI. Each participant used a different model—Fable 5 versus Soul 5.6—with identical constraints: a single structured prompt, one framework assist, and up to three post-generation revisions. The goal was to evaluate speed, usability, and final gameplay quality.
The Fable 5 build completed in roughly 15 minutes, producing a fully playable, two-room escape game with interactive elements, audio cues, and a consistent visual style. The output included humorous design choices and functional mechanics without requiring major corrections, highlighting strong prompt adherence and execution speed.
In contrast, Soul 5.6 required approximately 54 minutes to generate and deploy a comparable game. Delays were attributed to slower processing and extended build steps. While the final product eventually became playable, the prolonged generation time created friction and reduced iteration efficiency.
When players swapped games, the Fable 5 version proved solvable within about 16 minutes, with clear puzzle logic and responsive interactions. The Soul 5.6 game presented more confusion, requiring external hints to progress. Missing or unclear puzzle cues slowed completion and highlighted weaker design coherence.
Based on categories including speed, aesthetics, and functionality, Fable 5 achieved a score of 67.5/80, later boosted to 87.5 with bonus points. Soul 5.6 scored 56.5/80, reflecting acceptable design quality but lower performance in speed and usability.
Both builds leveraged Higgsfield, a platform capable of orchestrating AI-driven development, including assets, logic, and deployment. The test demonstrated that model performance is amplified or hindered by how effectively it integrates with such frameworks, with Fable 5 showing smoother orchestration.
Fable 5 handled revisions quickly, enabling rapid refinements such as adding hint systems and gameplay tweaks. Soul 5.6, while capable, showed slower iteration cycles, making experimentation more time-consuming and less practical for fast prototyping.
The experiment underscores a growing trend: AI tools are increasingly capable of turning simple prompts into functional applications. However, differences in latency, reliability, and prompt execution remain critical factors in determining real-world usability for developers and creators.
The comparison highlights a clear edge for Fable 5 in speed, responsiveness, and gameplay execution, suggesting that faster iteration cycles are currently a निर्ण factor in practical AI-assisted development.
