Cognizant says its rollout of Google Workspace, Gemini, and agent-based AI tools is accelerating software delivery and could lift productivity in some workflows by 60% to 70%.
Cognizant, a global IT services company with about 350,000 employees, is using Google Workspace as a core productivity platform and has recently rolled out Gemini and Gemini Enterprise to roughly 20,000 associates. The tools are being used for analytics, collaboration, and presenting results to internal and external stakeholders.
The AI tools have also been deployed to selected employee groups working directly with clients. In those roles, Gemini is being used for day-to-day tasks, with the company reporting a significant improvement in employee productivity and faster execution of routine knowledge work.
The company says recent advances in agentic AI have sharply reduced time to market for new business models and applications. That acceleration is framed as a response to customer expectations for shorter delivery cycles and quicker deployment of digital products.
One internal solution built with Gemini, Gemini Enterprise, and Gemini CLI is designed to standardize development workflows. The system translates functions typically handled by a business analyst, developer, and architect into software agents that work alongside human staff rather than replacing them outright.
Cognizant says this agent-assisted development model has delivered strong return on investment for clients already using the Google ecosystem. The company argues that a unified stack helps teams move from analysis to build and deployment more quickly, improving business outcomes.
Working with Google, Cognizant has developed a solution called Agentic Employee, built on the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. The offering is intended to let AI agents perform organizational tasks in a way that mirrors how human workers operate across business processes.
Cognizant estimates that the Agentic Employee approach could produce productivity savings of around 60% to 70% in applicable workflows. That positions the initiative as part of a broader shift from simple automation toward AI agents embedded in everyday enterprise operations.
Cognizant is using Google’s AI stack to push beyond basic office automation into agent-assisted development and business operations. The company’s central claim is that unified AI tooling can cut delivery times and unlock major productivity gains at enterprise scale.
